FDA Listening Meeting, September 2024: Laurie testified about the black box warning placed on CAR-T therapies, arguing the warning lacked contextual data and was creating unnecessary fear among patients with terminal illness. The FDA subsequently issued a pink sheet acknowledging her points.

California State Legislature, Sacramento, May 2025: Laurie testified before the California State Legislature in support of Senate Bill SB 242, which would allow Medicare Advantage subscribers to purchase Medigap supplemental insurance plans. The bill passed out of committee.

LLS DC Advocacy, February 2022: Laurie attended LLS Virtual DC Advocacy Day, holding 7 meetings in one day with senators and representatives on three issues: pediatric cancer research funding, clinical trial access, and a cap on Medicare Part D out-of-pocket costs for cancer prescriptions.
