CAR-T NHL Survivor Laurie Adami
Speaking at the LLS Light the Night event in Los Angeles in November 2018, Laurie gave one of her earliest public accounts of her CAR-T experience, just three months after receiving her modified T-cells back and learning her cancer was gone. Standing before the community that had helped fund the research behind her treatment, she walked through her twelve years of relapse and treatment, the moment she first heard about CAR-T at an LLS event in 2012, and what it meant to enter UCLA as the first patient in the trial. Candid, grateful, and still early in her remission, this talk captures Laurie at the precise moment her story shifted from survival to advocacy.
